Produced by Us

At Vanishing Point, we make our own work and produce the work of other artists.

If you have an idea for a show and need someone to produce it for you, please get in touch with us - we may be able to help, either by producing it for you or supporting you to produce it yourself.

We are particularly interested in work that is director-led and that aims to engage with and entertain audiences around Scotland. We are keen to support under-represented artists to make work. We are keen to meet people.

Please send us some brief information (no more than 1 side of A4) about your idea and what support you need to hello@vanishing-point.org

Producing Support

If you are an artist or a producer, and need some help or guidance, we may be able to help. The support we can provide will depend on your needs but, for example, could include: helping you to develop a business plan, assist with funding applications or make suggestions for creative partnerships. Please send some information about what support you need to: hello@vanishing-point.org

Artists and organisations we are currently supporting include:

Shotput

Shotput is a dance-theatre company led by Lucy Ireland, Jim Manganello and Helen McIntosh.

Shotput creates dance-theatre that investigates human relationships. We are fascinated by the darker corners of contemporary experience. Our productions are physically and visually rigourous, rooted in experimentation and collaboration. We define our work not as a collection of shows, but as a network of relationships with artists and audiences. Founded in Glasgow in 2018, Shotput is embedded in Scotland and committed to internationalism.

Shotput approached Vanishing Point for some organisational development support to help lay the foundations for the company. This included reviewing the company structure and discussing and exploring artistic and business management, vision and goals. This is ongoing support and forms part of Shotput's mission, to be a dynamic company with long-term goals.

Kolbrún Björt Sigfúsdóttir / Brite Theater

Brite Theater is an independent theatre group founded by Kolbrún Björt Sigfúsdóttir in 2006 - the group is especially interested in audience and site specific work, using participation, direct address, shared lighting, promenade and unconventional theatre spaces.

Brite Theatre approached Vanishing Point with the idea for Deliverance in Spring 2020 and we produced it in Edinburgh & Glasgow November 2020. The following year, we produced performances across Scotland with funding from Creative Scotland’s Touring Fund. In December 2021, Deliverance was presented in Busan, remotely from Scotland, with the Busan Cultural Foundation.

Emma Ruse / Framework Theatre

Emma was selected to take part in an Industry-Based Learning Programme that we delivered in partnership with the Scottish Drama Training Network (SDTN).  Through a series of one-to-one sessions, Emma gained insight into producing a Vanishing Point show.

We also supported Emma’s company, Framework Theatre by acting as Associate Producer for HOME: A Project for New Writers - we provided funding, support and guidance, enabling Emma to gain experience and confidence in producing her company’s work.
