Winter Residency at the Citz
VANISHING POINT WINTER RESIDENCY 2026
at THE CITIZENS THEATRE
Over the course of two-weeks, we curated a programme of shows and events that align with our values of internationalism, local engagement, artistic experimentation, career development for artists and - most of all - entertaining audiences.
Shows included Size Matters by Mamoru Iriguchi, Mistero Buffo by Franca Rame and Dario Fo, directed by Ben Standish and performed by Lawrence Boothman, Last Orders, Alana Jackson’s stand-up comedy show, and Future Works, a double bill of works-in-progress from Jack Hunter and Suzi Cunningham.
To complement our programme of shows, we curated a series of discussion events that seek to reimagine the future of Scottish theatre, aimed at people working in all areas of theatre and performance in Scotland. Three speakers completed the sentence What if….? and presented to the room one bold idea that could shift the way Scottish theatre works…
At each performance we offered a slice of free pizza to audience members, made by the local takeaway shop next door to the Citz.
