Matthew Lenton
Artistic Director and Joint Chief Executive
Matthew is the founder and Artistic Director of Vanishing Point. His work with Vanishing Point has been performed in many countries across Europe, South America, Russia and China and at leading international festivals such as The Stanislavsky Festival (Moscow), FIBA (Buenos Aries), Napoli Teatro Festival Italia, Festival D’Automne (Paris).
Recent and current productions include Interiors (Barbican, London), Confessions of a Shinagawa Monkey (Kanagawa Arts Theatre, Yokohama, Japan) and Darwin, Nevada (Piccolo Theatre Milan/Teatro Bolzano/Emilia Romagna Teatro) and Love The Sinner (Tron Theatre, Glasgow/Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh).
Other recent work includes Love Beyond (Manipulate Festival, Edinburgh/Raw Material Arts), Love The Sinner (Imogen Stirling/Tron/Traverse), Metamorfosi and 1984 (Emilia Romagna Teatro, Italy), Charlie Sonata (Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh), Middletown (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland), The Merchant of Venice (National Theatre of Kosovo) and Striptease/Out at Sea (Citizens Theatre Glasgow/FIT Festival Lugano).
In 2010, Matthew became the first British director of the Ecole des Maitres, a European director-led theatre laboratory for young actors from across Europe.
Severine Wyper
Executive Producer and Joint Chief Executive
Severine is the Executive Producer for Vanishing Point and has worked with Matthew and the company for over 14 years. She has been instrumental in the growth of the company, from a local theatre company to an organisation that is internationally known, that has toured to over 25 countries, from Brazil to Russia. She has overseen and produced all of Vanishing Point’s main productions to date.
She has worked collaboratively with prestigious co-producers, partners and festivals in UK and abroad from Edinburgh International Festival to Theatre de la Ville(Paris) to FIBA (Argentina) and established key financial investments for the company.
Severine conceived and managed the Space 11 project (2004 - 2011), an influential capacity-building, creative hub that supported emerging artists in theatre and dance through mentorship and with an office base at the heart Glasgow. This innovative project established Vanishing Point as a pioneer in creating and developing opportunities for emerging artists in Scotland. Artists included Vox Motus, Random Accomplice, Pamela Carter, David Leddy, Nick Underwood, all of whom have gone on to distinguish themselves with their own work and are regarded as established artists, organisations in the UK.
Severine is committed to supporting and mentoring other artists. She is on the Board of Company Chordelia and Company of Wolves.
Eleanor Scott
Administrative Producer
Eleanor is an experienced arts manager. She joined Vanishing Point in 2008. She is currently the Administrative Producer for the company and has extensive experience of producing and managing productions and tours in the UK and internationally.
She recently produced The Dark Carnival: Unplugged which toured to over 12 rural venues throughout Scotland. In 2014 she produced the presentation of Tomorrow at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Made in Scotland Showcase. Additionally, Eleanor has managed and coordinated the work of independent artists such as Brite Theater/Kolbrún Björt Sigfúsdóttir, Pauline Goldsmith, Kai Fischer and Damir Todorović. Eleanor is a member of the Board of The Touring Network.
