ABUNDANT LIFE: A POST-HUMAN PLAY PROJECT
PAMELA CARTER
REHEARSED READING
CITIZENS THEATRE - Rehearsal Room
Wed 27 January 2027
7pm, 120mins (including interval)
Tired, tipsy and online, Rose takes out a subscription to a cryogenic preservation service. In case she dies ever. And then she forgets about it. Forgets that night, her password, the direct debit. Forgets about wanting to live forever.
Years later Rose isn’t herself. She wants answers. As does Rose. Who isn’t herself either. The same goes for Rose. And Rose. And Rose. And so on until nRose, faced with the enormity of ∞Rose, can get it together to remember.
A work in progress reading of a new play by Pamela Carter directed by Jim Manganello of Shotput.
Why We Programmed Abundant Life:
Because it sounds brilliant. Pamela is a writer whose work is always incisive, provocative and curious about what theatre can be. She has collaborated with Vanishing Point on a number of projects, including Tomorrow (as a writer) and Interiors and Saturday Night as dramaturg, so we’re really pleased to be able to host a reading of this intriguing new play. Especially as it’s directed by the brilliant Shotput.
